Douglas Fir
This is a traditional favourite amongst West Coast builders. Douglas Fir is a strong and resilient wood that has been used for construction and finishing for over a century. It is found in most West Coast heritage buildings. It has its classic colour, developing the warm reddish glow that makes it stand out from its alternates.
Available from our sustained forests as second growth or as salvaged old growth logs left behind from days gone by. It is also available from underwater standing timber salvaged from our Lois Lake.
